Role: Property Accountant
Salary: $110,000 - $125,000/annually + Benefits

Location: Midtown East, Manhattan - *2 days a week onsite*

Job Description:
Cash Management
  • Ensure cash balances are adequate to cover required expenses throughout the year.

  • Prepare cash flow reports for ownership as requested and coordinate distributions.

  • Reconcile bank accounts monthly and as needed.

  • Commit approved payables for payment and interact with the Accounts Payable team as needed.

  • Instruct the cash management team to wire funds to/from bank accounts on an as-needed basis.

  • Prepare monthly debt service reporting for mortgage payments.

  • Review non-tenant receipts for posting by Accounts Receivable and interact with the team as needed.

Reporting
  • Perform and prepare all necessary month-end closing entries and procedures.

  • Prepare monthly workpapers as required by each property.

  • Prepare and review monthly reports/packages sent to ownership, including variance analysis and GPR reporting.

  • Prepare special reports required by lenders and ownership.

  • Most reports are prepared on an accrual basis of accounting, so this position requires a strong understanding of accrual accounting principles.

C. Budget Preparation
  • Annually prepare Operating and Capital Budgets as needed, based on lender and ownership requirements.

D. Other
  • Provide support and financial data for the annual audit process.

  • Respond to emails, phone calls, and requests in a timely and professional manner.

  • Reconcile security deposits on a monthly basis and assist the security deposit team as needed.

Qualifications
  • Proficient in Excel.

  • Knowledge of Yardi 7s or similar accounting software.
