Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Physician Assistant - Bellevue - Internal Medicine.

In this role, the successful candidate In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for provision and coordination of comprehensive medical care using sound medical knowledge and pertinent standards of care, performance of therapeutic, corrective, and prescriptive measures in an inpatient population setting, and assume responsibilities assigned by supervising physician privileged as medical staff at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue Hospital.

The successful candidate will work at NYU Langone Medical Center affiliate hospital, NYC H + H, Bellevue.

At NYC H + H/Bellevue, the Physician Assistant (PA) Service functions independently from the house-staff services It is staffed by Physician Assistants with 24/7 PA coverage and attending supervision. Hours of work include three, 12.5-hour flexible overnight shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provision of clinical care for patients on the Physician Assistant Service of the General Internal Medicine Service at Bellevue Hospital with an attending physician
  • Admit, evaluate and write coverage notes on patients on the PA service should coverage issues arise overnight under the guidance of an attending physician
  • Responsible for complying with all contractual obligations under the NYU School of Medicine Affiliation Contract with Bellevue Hospital Center and all other related duties as assigned
  • Practices within the scope of practice of supervising physician
  • Performs delegated clinical duties effectively and efficiently
  • Works collaboratively with the attending physician, consulting physician(s), and other disciplines to identify, develop, and implement an appropriate plan of care that maximizes individual patient/family preference and enhances quality, access, and cost-effective outcomes

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Physician Assistant Bachelor's Degree (BA-PA)
Current New York State Physician Assistant License
NCCPA Board Certification
Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association..

Required Licenses: Physician Assistant Lic-NYS, Ntl Com Cert Physician Asst, Basic Life Support Cert

Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) through the American Heart Association or Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics may be required based on your selected privileges.
Membership in pertinent professional organizations preferred.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $97,589.95 - $117,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
