Work Experience: Emergency nursing department Responsibilities Coordinates the overall management of the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program Establishes and maintains a reporting structure to Nursing and Medical Directors. Shares all information as needed to ensure program functions. Acts as a resource in current state legislation and maintains knowledge to ensure program functioning. Schedules meetings to provide timely updates and disseminate necessary information to ensure program functions. Prepares and distributes meeting minutes, and other written communication to ensure that necessary information has been communicated. Maintains supplies and equipment as needed to conduct forensic examinations. Works collaboratively with the department leadership and staff. Provides data as indicated to assure accurate record management and quality assurance process. Assists and shares knowledge of program functions to hospital providers. Participates in evidenced based practice activities and process improvement initiatives that generate new knowledge or integrate best available practice. Revises current policies and clinical practice guidelines as assigned.Education, Curriculum Development, and Patient Safety Designs, facilitates and coordinates educational programs for the Sexual Assault program regionally for hospital staff and other non-Carle healthcare professionals. Trains new SANE nurses and monitors competency for existing SANE nurses. Prepares and provides orientation and performs evaluation of personnel in the SANE program in addition to staff and providers on any SANE specific needs. Establishes annual competency and quality assurance goals. Provides Just-in-time training for SANE patients and coaches at the elbow regarding processes. Provides education regarding policy, clinical practice guideline, or process updates and changes. Completes intentional rounding with staff to provide live education and in-services as needed.Provides direct patient care as needed. Care and Share Representative. Manages Human, Financial, and Material resources based on identified needs and goals and in alignment with organizational and nursing strategic plans. Implements actions and initiatives to recruit and retain personnel to develop and maintain CTC and SANE programming. Attends regional SANE/SART Advisory Board Meetings. Assists personnel in preparing for SANE courtroom proceedings. Oversees and completes all paperwork required to compile statistics for funding resources. Establishes good relationship with community resource personnel. Provides feedback as needed to law enforcement.Presents data and metrics to providers and staff specific to SANE patients and the program. Provides direct patient care to sexual assault victims during normal business hours as needed. Provides a monthly on call schedule for 24/7 SANE nurse coverage in the Methodist ED. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $36.7per hour - $63.12per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
