The Advanced Heart Failure Team and MaineHealth Maine Medical Center is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team. Our office is comprised of 7 Cardiologists, 2 Advanced Practice Providers and 6 RNs. We specialize in the management of patients with advanced heart failure needing heart pumps or heart transplant. Our patients are medically complex and provide an opportunity to learn specialized cardiac care. The position is a mix of clinical and administrative responsibilities. Clinical responsibilities include obtaining weights, vital signs, EKGs, performing lab draws and reviewing medications. The Medical Assistant will work very closely with other clinical team members during patient visits. Administrative responsibilities include abstracting lab values into our electronic medical record, managing clinic supplies and obtaining prior authorizations for medications and procedures. The standard schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, or there is the option to work four 10-hour days per week. We are looking for a candidate who is motivated with great organization skills.
