Archaea Energy, a bp company, is a leader in landfill gas to energy and the largest renewable natural gas (RNG) producer in the US. With big ambitions, we specialize in the development, construction and operation of RNG, landfill-gas-to-electric and dairy digester facilities. The team operates around 50 sites in 32 states with a robust development pipeline.

About the role

The Archaea Energy Finance Performance Analyst is a role within the Finance team supporting the VP Performance. They will use their Finance and technical knowledge, data and analytics to provide the following key accountabilities:

  • RNG plant and landfill financial and operational performance insights
  • Prepare business cases and run investment analytics and economic evaluations
  • Data-driven technical support of Archaea's short- and long-term production forecasts and performance
  • Tracking key business metrics to performance manage of all functions and Archaea overall company performance.
  • Provide JV Management support
  • Support CFO and VP Performance on cross-functional value driven initiatives

Key accountabilities

  • Working closely with Operations Planning & Performance, Finance Planning, and Performance Managers, provide insights to operations on actual data to inform their forward production, cost and capital forecasts.
  • Provide support to business by gathering relevant input to generate business cases for commercial, development, operations investments, AFE supplements, preparing economics and approval documents that comply with bp standards
  • Prepare materials that provide insights to business performance at Archaea's monthly business reviews.
  • Build and maintain a database of landfill gas flows and gas quality, generating dashboards to drive insights on landfill performance across the United States.
  • Using data from public databases and internal knowledge, perform analysis and generate landfill gas production reports (similar to decline curve analysis of reservoirs)
  • Support JV relationships in the form of annual budget submission and model updates for partners.

Essential education

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Data Science, Finance, Engineering or Science from an Accredited University

Essential experience

  • At least 5 year's experience in Finance (preferred), Performance or Operations.
  • Demonstrated track record as a self-starter, curious, coachable, and willingness to learn new skills.

Desirable criteria

  • Strong degree of business acumen
  • Demonstrated understanding of key business drivers (financial and operational) and how they relate to profitability
  • Capable of quickly learning and applying new concepts, processes and procedures
  • Strong verbal communication skills to present ideas clearly and distinctly across all levels of organization
  • Proven ability to manage demanding and often-changing workloads without impacting deadlines
  • Courage to challenge and progress complex issues
