POSITION: Maui Recovery Case Worker
DEPARTMENT: EDS / Maui County
SUPERVISOR: Maui County Coordinator
STATUS: Non-Exempt / Full time - Contingent on Funding
PAY: $20.00 to $24.00

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in human services, Social Work, Education, or Psychology preferred, however, three years of experience working in social services, with strong knowledge base of local (Maui) resources will qualify. The candidate must have a clean driving record and must successfully complete the Decision Driving Safety Test before driving for The Salvation Army and annually recertify as required. He/she must have the ability to do fieldwork in various settings. Experience working disaster recovery is preferred and computer proficiency is required. Bi-lingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
This is a position in the Emergency Disaster Services Department. Position not to exceed (3) years with the option to extend based on workload and funding.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Represent The Salvation Army in accordance with its mission, initiatives and policies & procedures, in all EDS/Maui Recovery matters.
*Qualify and determine client eligibility for assistance. This includes but is not limited to conducting in-person, online and phone screenings, processing applications, completing check requests, and completing follow up phone calls.
*Respond to client inquiries for emergency materials and financial assistance.
*Participate in off-site community outreach events and client meetings to conduct screenings and promote emergency assistance services.
*Refer qualified client families who meet case management criteria to a Pathway of Hope Case Manager.
*Assist clients in obtaining and appropriately utilizing community resources, including housing, employment, recovery support programs, educational opportunities, and other relevant services.
*Facilitate financial literacy and life skills sessions with clients that support stability and sufficiency.
*Maintain clear, thorough, and up-to-date client notes and documentation.
*Respect and adhere to client privacy guidelines (HIPAA, 42 CFR, The Salvation Army Social Services Code of Ethics, and relevant POH guidelines)
*Record and maintain accurate client information utilizing WellSky, and internal excel spreadsheets and database software.
*Build a positive network of relationships with community resources. Act as a liaison between TSA Maui County, other TSA corps, social service programs, government agencies, and other social service organizations.
*Attend department meetings and training courses as assigned.
*Provide statistical data as required by the program in a timely and efficient manner.
*Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the supervisor.

*Demonstrate reliability. Maintain regular and punctual work attendance. Complete projects on schedule.
*Has the ability to work independently and autonomously, as well as part of a team.
*Maintains confidentiality of all client's information.
*Demonstrates the ability to interact in a positive and helpful manner with clients, co-workers, etc.
