Overview

The Med- 7 unit is the ideal place for a person who values critical thinking, and a higher acuity of patient. We specialize in providing compassionate, comprehensive care to a diverse range of patients. Our unit serves individuals with complex needs, including those suffering from chronic wounds, mental health concerns, and respiratory conditions. We also provide expert management of gastrointestinal issues and heart failure, ensuring tailored care to each patient's specific needs. Additionally, we treat conditions requiring long-term antibiotics, such as endocarditis and cellulitis, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and supporting recovery. Our team of dedicated healthcare professionals works collaboratively to deliver the highest standard of care in a nurturing, supportive environment.

Qualifications Education
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
  • Comparable education and successful licensure may be considered.
Licensure
  • Must hold and maintain a current LPN license in the state where nursing duties are performed.
  • Must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
Experience
  • Open to both new graduates and experienced LPNs.
Certifications
  • Required:

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or completion within 30 days of hire).
    • LPN-IV Certification (must be completed prior to hire or within 3 months, depending on department requirements).
  • May Be Required Based on Unit/Role:

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization)
    • S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, and Emotional Support)
    • Six Assessment & Care Modules
    • Other unit-specific certifications as applicable
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and turning patients with assistance.
  • Prolonged standing and walking during shifts.
  • Must be able to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
