Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital, overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Michigan. We specialize in providing comprehensive, compassionate behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults. Branches Auburn Hills, A Service of Havenwyck Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented leader to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Outpatient Services is responsible for the overall quality and fiscal management of the program. The Director is responsible for the operation and expansion of outpatient services through outreach, business development and needs assessment efforts. The Director of Outpatient Services maintains positive internal and external relationships, working with the hospital-based treatment team as well as with other providers, local and state agencies, and managed care organizations. The Director continuously assures that clinical services are in full compliance with applicable regulations and payer contract specifications.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE; BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Responsible for the public relations and program growth.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Business Development and the marketing team to assist in presentations and the development of Outpatient Services collateral.
  • Ensures the continual growth of the program through effective selection and development of staff.
  • Plans and executes work systematically and with established priorities for greater efficiency as well as efficiently utilizing staff members and equipment to meet cost and quality standards.
  • Ensure the treatment planning is well designed and implemented. Communicates with physicians, program directors, charge nurses, etc. regarding anticipated admissions.
  • Collects and maintains statistics/data to direct growth initiatives.
  • Coordinates Performance Improvement monitors and activities for the Outpatient Services program.
  • Serves on internal committees to develop policy, program, and procedures.
  • Conducts staff meetings on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • Manages daily clinical duties and schedules of staff; flexes staffing as needed.
  • Evaluates work performance and other relevant factors of all Outpatient Services program staff annually.
  • Provides supervision and training for students and other clinical staff.
  • Attends treatment team conferences, operational meetings, and planning meetings.
  • Coordinates clinical information between the treatment team and the prescriber.
  • Performs interventions as needed including psychosocial assessment, discharge planning, and acting as a liaison for hospitalized patients to various community agencies and resources.
  • Administrates and enforces all hospital policies as they apply to program employees.
  • Track outcome measures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Bachelors of Nursing or Master's Degree: Social Work or Counseling, Ph.D.: Psychology Only required
  • Current license in the State of Michigan as a Fully Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Psychologist or Registered Nurse required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in an outpatient setting.
  • Previous Joint Commission and CMS survey experience.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Experience with patient assessments, treatment planning and communication with external referral sources and community partners.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management, patients, families, physicians, staff, referral sources and community partners.
  • Employees must be in good standing (employment/corrective action history, evaluation, etc.) to be considered for internal transfers.
