This is an exciting opportunity to join BlueHalo's (now an AV company) RF-CUAS Group. This group designs, develops, and manufactures the Titan C-UAS system to provide clients real-time protection of life, property, and sensitive infrastructure. Titan systems are deployed across the globe, with a rapidly expanding footprint resulting from a technologically innovative solution that is attentive to all aspects of the user experience.

OVERVIEW

The ideal candidate for the Senior Engineering Technician position will possess a strong technical background, situational adaptability, and a willingness to learn and contribute to the ongoing development of complex CUAS systems. This role will both support and be a critical member of our engineering staff, working closely to capture technical requirements, implement test procedures, and regularly execute said procedures.

The candidate should be comfortable working with electronic subassemblies and lab equipment, assisting in R&D activities, and operating independently as needed. Other responsibilities include executing test plans to quantify and report measured characteristics of hardware, as well as helping inspect, prepare, and pack hardware for shipping to end users. Attention to detail is required. Strong communication skills are also vital as this position will have a direct impact on the quality and efficacy of mission-critical protective systems.

Primary responsibilities:



  • Conduct testing of production systems and provide detailed reports to leadership
  • Capture requirements to assess performance baseline and inform test parameters
  • Troubleshoot hardware and develop plans for resolving potential defects
  • Assemble and test RF subassemblies in support of R&D and production activities
  • Build, operate, and maintain production test fixtures
  • Perform final inspection and kitting of systems for client delivery
  • Coordinate with technical leadership, peers, and other engineering technicians
  • Location/Schedule: San Diego office, regular business hours



Requirements:



  • You should have 2-5 years of relevant experience, possessing an BSEE or BSME degree
  • Should possess strong technical skills (electronics & radio frequency) and be willing to work in a hands-on environment
  • Should be comfortable working down to the electronic component level
  • Should be able to effectively manage time and delegate tasks based on priorities
  • Familiarity with electronic measuring equipment, RF measurement & analysis a strong plus
  • Expertise with MS Office Suite; LabVIEW and other engineering apps a plus
  • Soldering skills (or a willingness to learn)
  • Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 experience a plus
  • Must be a US Citizen



Salary Range: $85,000 to $90,000/annually

BlueHalo (now an AV company) pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several factors including, but not limited to, level of position, job responsibilities, geographic location, scope of relevant work experience, educational background, certifications, contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, alignment with local internal equity as well as alignment with market data.
