OUR OPENING

1J Homes is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Residential Interior Designer & Marketing Coordinator to join our growing team. This dual-role position is perfect for someone who brings both an eye for interior design and a talent for digital storytelling.

You will be responsible for designing custom home interiors that reflect our homeowners' unique visions, while also managing and growing our social media presence. This is a key role that bridges the client experience and the public-facing brand, helping 1J Homes deliver exceptional homes and tell the story behind them.

What Would You Do as a RESIDENTIAL INTERIOR DESIGNER & SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR?



  1. Initial Client Consultation & Planning

    • Partner with the sales team to meet with homeowners and understand their design preferences, lifestyle, and budget.
    • Help establish a realistic design scope and budget, aligning with the full construction plan.
    • Clearly define and document the homeowner's vision and expectations.


  2. Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with the architectural designer to ensure alignment between architectural plans and interior design.
    • Review layouts and provide recommendations to improve functionality, aesthetics, and flow.
    • Maintain regular communication with team members, project managers, and homeowners.


  3. Design Budgeting & Cost Estimation

    • Assist the estimating team to establish cost estimates for finishes, fixtures, and design elements.
    • Help homeowners make selections that align with budget goals.
    • Recommend cost-saving alternatives without compromising quality or vision.


  4. Material & Finish Selections

    • Guide homeowners in choosing flooring, cabinetry, countertops, lighting, hardware, etc.
    • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure materials are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
    • Attend homeowner meetings to present and refine selections.


  5. Construction Walkthroughs

    • Participate in mechanical and electrical walkthroughs to confirm placement of fixtures, outlets, switches, and finishes.
    • Ensure installation aligns with both aesthetic and functional goals.


  6. Construction Coordination & Oversight

    • Coordinate with field teams (contractors, electricians, carpenters) to implement design intent.
    • Oversee installation of furnishings and final design elements.
    • Monitor schedules and deliverables to keep the project on track.


  7. Design Trends & Compliance

    • Stay up-to-date with residential design trends, materials, and innovations.
    • Maintain awareness of building codes and applicable design regulations.


  8. Ongoing Client Communication

    • Serve as the design point-of-contact throughout the construction process.
    • Adjust design plans based on feedback, unforeseen conditions, or scope changes.


  9. Final Walkthrough & Closeout

    • Inspect the completed home to ensure all design components have been implemented correctly.
    • Collaborate with the construction team to address any issues or touchups.
    • Gather homeowner feedback and ensure a smooth transition to move-in.




Social Media & Marketing Coordination



  1. Social Media Strategy & Content Planning

    • * Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar that highlights homes, design features, milestones, and company culture.


  2. Content Creation

    • Capture and edit high-quality photos and videos of homes under construction and completed projects.
    • Coordinate professional photography and videography when needed.


  3. Storytelling & Engagement

    • Craft engaging captions, reels, and stories that showcase behind-the-scenes, team moments, and client experiences.
    • Identify compelling narratives that build trust and interest in the 1J Homes brand.


  4. Analytics & Optimization

    • Track social media performance, monitor engagement, and prepare monthly analytics reports.
    • Suggest adjustments based on trends, platform insights, and engagement metrics.


  5. Trend Awareness

    • Stay current on social media trends in home design, construction, and lifestyle.
    • Bring new ideas to keep content fresh, relevant, and on-brand.




EXPERINCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED



  • 2+ years of experience in residential interior design or a related role
  • Strong communication and client presentation skills
  • Experience managing social media platforms professionally
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Proficiency in material and finish selections for high-end homes
  • Confidence in managing vendor relationships and client expectations
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field
  • Experience with luxury or custom residential home building
  • Familiarity with Revit, Chief Architect, Adobe Creative Suite, Enscape, or similar design tools
  • Previous experience in a client-facing sales or service role
  • Photography and basic video editing skills
