REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE



  • Bachelor's Degree in higher education leadership or administration or in social work or related field and/or time equivalent to three years of experience working in a higher education setting, or comparable experience
  • Experience in program leadership, the provision of student services, and budgetary management


Preferred Education & Experience



  • Veterans and/or candidates who have previously worked with veterans
  • Experience with student management systems and/or electronic databases


PAY:
Compensation is determined based on the qualifications, experience, and circumstances of each hire. It is uncommon for new employees to start near the top of the salary range. The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $70,000

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Coordinates and oversees the day-to-day operations of the CEVSS
  • Maintain a relationship with the Department of Education and answer all questions related to the CEVSS grant
  • Convene, chair, and lead the CEVSS veteran student support team
  • Provides leadership and direction in the management of the CEVSS by working with staff, faculty, and community stakeholders in the delivery of services
  • Support recruitment efforts focused on veteran students
  • Provide supplemental advising and coaching support for participating veteran students
  • Supervise the peer mentor program, including the training of peer mentors
  • Organize orientations for incoming veteran students
  • Attend Joint Services Transcript (JST) training and guide the development of the JST digital handbook
  • Coordinate with the evaluator to gather all relevant data for program evaluation
  • Review financial aid support for military students, ensuring students are advised on how to best use their military funding
