Allied Mechanical Service is looking for a motivated and hands-on individual to join our team as a Commercial Refrigeration Technician Apprentice. In this role, you'll work under the guidance of experienced technicians to learn how to install, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration systems commonly used in grocery stores, restaurants, and industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• On-the-Job Training:
  • Assist lead technicians with diagnosing and repairing refrigeration systems including walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, and rack systems.
  • Learn to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer manuals.
• Installation & Maintenance:
  • Support the installation of new refrigeration units and components under supervision.
  • Help perform routine maintenance tasks like cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and inspecting electrical connections.
• Service Support:
  • Gather tools, materials, and parts needed for service calls.
  • Help keep service vehicles stocked and organized.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment on job sites.
• Documentation & Communication:
  • Accurately document work performed, and parts used.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, technicians, and occasionally with customers.
• Safety & Compliance:
  • Follow all company safety guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling techniques for refrigerants and electrical components.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in or completion of a refrigeration or HVAC training program.
• Interest in HVAC/R trades or mechanical systems.
• Willingness to learn and work in a physically active environment.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on ladders, and in various weather conditions.
