Summary:

The Engineering Manager is responsible for the safe, on time and on budget completion of assigned projects in aluminum extrusion, fabrication, and billet casting facilities. Capital projects are typically $1M - $40M and could consist of refurbishments of existing equipment and/or new equipment installations.Projects are expected to be developed within Hydro's Capital Value Process. Typical job duties include but are not limited to working in a cross functional team from business case development through project hand-off to operations, schedule, and budget reporting, analyzing, and adjusting project team performance, delegating tasks effectively, and closing projects.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment and with capital project life cycle.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, and or equivalent work experience.
  • Engineering and/or manufacturing project management background
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Effective communication and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to manage AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks drawings for conceptual reviews and project management.
  • Lean Manufacturing principles including waste reduction experience.

Job Responsibillities:

  • Keep your Team of Engineers on task with project time schedule and completion.
  • Safe, on time and on budget development and execution of capital projects.
  • Project management responsibilities from concept development through hand-off to plant operations through established PESHA process.
  • Management of contractors in a safe and productive way.
  • Lead cross functional teams towards common project goals.
  • Must spend quality time on floor with project team and understand the construction and start-up actions.
  • Ensure safe and proper operation of equipment & processes.
