Overview

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Analyst, Data Risk Controls & Business Enablement to help business units across the organization identify, document, and implement effective data risk controls as part of our enterprise data risk management initiative.

This position plays a critical role in translating strategy into action by working directly with frontline teams to understand data driven processes, evaluate data related risks, and develop control activities and procedures. The successful candidate will partner with data stewards, risk officers, and business process owners to integrate data risk considerations into existing operational workflows and the enterprise RCSA program.

This role is highly interactive and ideal for a candidate with experience in risk management, control design, and strong business acumen who enjoys collaborating cross-functionally to embed sustainable, fit-for-purpose data controls.


Responsibilities

  • Work directly with business units to identify control gaps related to data quality, accuracy, timeliness, lineage, or integrity within operational workflows.
  • Guide business partners through the design and documentation of appropriate control activities and control procedures.
  • Translate data risks into business-friendly language and help teams connect risk scenarios to real-world process steps and handoffs.
  • Support the tagging and classification of controls as data relevant in the Archer GRC tool, in coordination with control owners and data stewards.
  • Assist in pilot efforts to embed data risk controls in selected RCSA processes and facilitate iterative learning for wider enterprise rollout.
  • Partner with data governance, operational risk, and compliance stakeholders to align control expectations and reduce redundancy.
  • Recommend compensating controls when permanent remediation will take time and help document those interim solutions appropriately.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the organization's control taxonomy and help drive adoption of consistent, sustainable control language.
  • Support development of guidance materials, templates, and training resources to help the business independently manage their data risks.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Financial Services, First Line Risk Management, Enterprise Risk or Operational Risk OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Financial Services, First Line Risk Management, Enterprise Risk or Operational Risk

  • 4+ years of experience in Operational Risk, Internal Controls, Data Governance, or Process Improvement roles, ideally in financial services.
  • Proven experience working directly with business stakeholders to define, implement, or enhance internal controls.
  • Knowledge of risk control frameworks such as COSO, COBIT, or NIST.
  • Familiarity with Archer or other GRC platforms and RCSA processes is strongly preferred.
  • Working understanding of data risks, such as quality, lineage, integrity, and reporting risk-especially in regulated environments.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and documentation skills; able to drive consensus across technical and business functions.
  • Experience supporting regulatory exam readiness, audit remediation, or enterprise control enhancements is a plus.

The base pay for this position is generally between $130,000 and $160,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
