POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager of Technology Operations is a hands-on leader responsible for meeting the technology objectives of Twin Cities PBS. This role manages IT Operations, covering hardware, software, networks, endpoints, IT support, and future innovations, in line with the organization's strategic plan. The Manager of Technology Operations partners with business leaders throughout the organization to ensure technology is supporting their strategic objectives. This role is responsible for creating cross-functional teams and processes to ensure that technological solutions are lasting and adaptable to the ever-changing needs of the organization. This position collaborates with the Chief Technology Officer on strategic planning of IT for the organization. Through all aspects of Technology, the manager is responsible for the effectiveness of the IT security program.

Compensation: $130,000 to $145,000 annually (depending on qualifications) in addition to company provided benefits.

Hybrid Work Environment: Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the Twin Cities Metro area and report to onsite office three days per week.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT (50% of time)



  • Review and maintain security compliance in accordance with various standards (PCI, SOX, other PII)
  • Develop and maintain internal processes and documentation focused on business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Responsible for knowing and maintaining staffing expertise for enterprise application support including Microsoft 365 and leveraging SSO where applicable.
  • Develop and maintain internal auditing policies and procedures that adhere to current security standards
  • Develop and maintain staff workstation and peripheral inventory, deployment, patching, and management standards that focus on security and provide exceptional user experience.
  • Develop and maintain an effective and efficient support mechanism to resolve employee technology requests, issues, and system outages; implement SLAs; maintain centralized documentation.
  • Protect the TPT brand by establishing secure Internet and Email best practices.

    The following are the key technological disciplines this position will be responsible for:

    • Staff workstations both PC and MAC
    • Conference room technology
    • Video and audio editing suites
    • Network and server monitoring and alerting
    • Foundational services (DNS, DHCP, Directory Services)
    • Perimeter and internal firewalls
    • System, data, and configuration backup strategies
    • Disaster Recovery plan and supporting technologies





Security & Risk (30% of time)



  • Oversee all aspects of security and protection of enterprise information.
  • Leads development and implementation of business continuity across technology operations.
  • Responsible for the identification and assessment of enterprise risks, determination of mitigation plans and monitoring of performance



Technology Leadership (20% of time)



  • Aligns annual budget with strategic plan, manages and advocates for technology/development funding.
  • Manages the department budget and coordinates all invoices and purchase requests.
  • Provide leadership and support to the staff to ensure the team maintains expertise on technological trends, provides exceptional customer service and is highly effective
  • Focus performance on the strategic plan, mentor and motivate staff to develop a culture that lives the mission, drives results, rewards, and celebrates achievements
  • Communicate with internal and external clients and stakeholders regularly and clearly to facilitate process, project planning, execution, and alignment to the strategic plan
  • Build, coach, and mentor IT Team including hiring, supervision, scheduling, roles and responsibilities, and performance evaluations
  • Identify and solve staff training needs and other career advancing opportunities
  • Provide clear written goals, objectives, and task assignments for staff
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure technology needs are managed efficiently and effectively.



QUALIFICATIONS

Required Experience



  • Bachelor's degree, minimum 10 years of IT experience
  • 5+ years of progressive IT leadership experience
  • Track record of successfully leading a team through transformation.
  • Strong project management skills, including risk and contingency management, ability to manage competing demands and set priorities, and achieve deliverables
  • Experience working on process redesign, system implementation, and/or change management
  • Experience communicating and presenting to all levels of the organization
