Job Description

Maintain general ledger accounts and perform other accounting-related activities. Provide a record of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions. Balance books periodically and prepares profit and loss, income, and balance sheet statements. Maintain receipts and disbursement reports. May plan, conduct, and participate in the basic analysis of cost assignments, ensuring that all assigned projects adhere to accepted cost accounting standards. Assist with analysis of financials (income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flow) to identify trends and interpret them for senior management. Prepare management reports that measure performance against key objectives and strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze accounts, records, reports, accounts receivable and payable, journal vouchers, general and subsidiary ledgers, and other accounting documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting problems for the area of responsibility.
  • Preparing monthly financial information utilizing the applicable support systems.
  • Duties include preparing journal entries, coding invoices/vouchers, reconciling the balance sheet, and analyzing variances.
  • May perform analyses of cost records to ascertain the distribution of costs for various divisions of management and production.
  • May classify labor, material, and overhead costs to compute unit costs of products or services.
  • Analyze actual costs versus standard costs and prepares reports of variances to include recommendations to senior management.
  • Compile cost data for preparation of operating budgets.
  • Prepares other reports and assists in special projects and analysis as required or requested by supervisor.
  • Assists in annual budget preparation and periodic forecasts
  • Supports internal customers by researching questions and investigating variances in the financial statements.
  • Serves as subject matter resource to management and accounting staff regarding accounting-related transactions, regulations, issues, and/or variances.
  • Mentor and assist junior-level accountants with the application of accounting practices and adherence to GAAP.
  • Ensures proper retention, filing, and handling of accounting records
  • Liaise with external auditors to facilitate audits of financial statements
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Able to apply broad work experience and knowledge when analyzing complex problems.
  • Must be able consistently to identify critical elements, variables, and alternatives to develop solutions.
  • Must be able to organize/prioritize existing resources and incorporate new information, as needed, to implement the most effective solutions.
  • Able to communicate clearly and courteously with those who need to know about decisions/actions/problems.
  • Able to apply excellent business acumen and collaborative skills when resolving problems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, advanced formulas, VLookups, etc.
  • Able to apply expertise in all the tools or applications used to complete work assignments.
  • Able to mentor junior-level team members in the use of tools and/or systems in the position.
  • Requires excellent communication skills with the ability to state messages in a clear and consise manner for others to easily understand.
  • Able to explain program policies and procedures in language that is understood by others.
  • Must be able to modify communication style both formal and informal to match the appropriate level of the audience targeted.
  • Requires a strong understanding of the impact of a message on the organization or customer.
  • Able to write with the clarity and precision necessary for the work being performed.

RRD's current salary range for this role is $67,800 to $105,800 / year. The salary range may be adjusted

based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the

future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and

compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency,

performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation

package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. RRD's benefit

offerings include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with

company match, life insurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus parental
