Department Summary The Biology department touts a multidisciplinary team of researchers committed to collaborating on large research projects with an emphasis on genetics using various model organisms. Position Overview The Department of Biological Sciences seeks to hire a qualified Hourly Research Assistant for the 2025-2026 academic year. Minimum Qualifications Degree in Biology or Biochemistry At least 3.5 GPA Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bioinformatics Analysis of pre-existing data Bioinformatics Analysis of new data Perform experiments Preferred Qualifications BS in Biology, Biochemistry Job Duties: % - Bioinformatics Analysis of pre-existing data. - (Essential) % - Bioinformatics Analysis of new data. - (Essential) % - Perform experiments. - (Essential) Physical Requirements: Communicating with others to exchange information. Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds. Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting or standing. Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Environmental Hazards: No adverse environmental conditions expected. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Low temperatures. Noisy environments. Small and/or enclosed spaces.
