Department Summary

The Biology department touts a multidisciplinary team of researchers committed to collaborating on large research projects with an emphasis on genetics using various model organisms. Position Overview

The Department of Biological Sciences seeks to hire a qualified Hourly Research Assistant for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Degree in Biology or Biochemistry
  • At least 3.5 GPA


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Bioinformatics Analysis of pre-existing data
  • Bioinformatics Analysis of new data
  • Perform experiments


Preferred Qualifications



  • BS in Biology, Biochemistry


Job Duties:

Physical Requirements:



  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting or standing.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

This position allows for a maximum of 10 hrs. per week, depending on the PI needs
