Basic Function

The Subcontractor Coordinator is responsible for coordinating subcontractor work during all production phases of vessel construction. This role ensures that production schedules are met and work aligns with company standards and requirements.

Minimum Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of shipyard manufacturing operations, products, components, and relevant regulatory standards.
  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and production drawings.
  • Capability to develop cost-effective work plans that meet quality standards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to guide and instruct production teams.
  • Proficient in basic computer software, especially Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and handle large volumes of work efficiently.

Essential Duties and Job Functions

  • Collaborate with subcontractors to define work duration and develop production schedules.
  • Ensure subcontractor data and updates are tracked by Central Planning.
  • Monitor and review daily and weekly task reports submitted by subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with Foremen to ensure subcontractor output complies with Bollinger standards and specifications.
  • Oversee scheduling conflicts and deconflict subcontractor activities with internal operations.
  • Support and coordinate efforts of internal production crafts in conjunction with subcontractor tasks.
  • Monitor materials planning: ordering, delivery, and receipt of necessary materials.
  • Track subcontractor man-hour budgets, safety compliance, and quality standards.
  • Act as primary point of contact with the client and client representatives regarding production execution.
  • Adhere strictly to all company policies, especially those concerning employee safety, environmental practices, and quality management systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Work overtime as necessary.
  • Report to work consistently and on time.
