POSITION DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATION

POSITION TITLE: Program Manager DATE: June 2025

FLSA STATUS: Exempt DEPT: Manufacturing

LOC: North Carolina


POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for planning and scheduling complex aerospace assemblies including structural and machined assemblies; ensuring that Work Order Management process and procedures are followed in accordance with established policies; customer communication in regard to schedule and cost of assigned projects; operates in compliance with company safety practices; and performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for being the liaison with existing customers during planning and execution phases through contract award.
  2. Maintains a high level of customer service by responding quickly to customer questions and quote inquiries.
  3. Communicates effectively and proactively with Sales to ensure labor resources are available for required work. Proactively collaborates with employees as needed when challenges arise.
  4. Meets and greets customers when they check on assembly status; provide tours and utilizes time to get to know customer.
  5. Acts as liaison between Sales and Operations departments to rectify customer issues.
  6. Handles paperwork in a timely and accurate manner (expense reports, quote requests, reports, etc. and summarizes quarterly results in agreed-upon measured areas for coaching discussions with the Plant Manager.
  7. Supports customer satisfaction feedback collection efforts and post departure open item resolutions as applicable.
  8. Responsible for ensuring on time delivery of assigned projects.
  9. Works with Production, Parts department, vendors and department heads to ensure timely coordination of all aspects of assigned projects.
  10. Responsible for being the main point of contact for assigned customers providing timely information regarding assigned projects.
  11. Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate arrivals and departures of assigned projects.
  12. Provides feedback to department heads regarding process improvement.
  13. Work with Team Lead to monitor labor hours estimate vs actual; if necessary, determine reasons a job took more or less hours and communicates to customer.
  14. Work with Supply Chain and Internal Manufacturing to monitor BOM cost estimate vs actual; if necessary, determine reasons for BOM variance.
  15. Always maintains a high level of professionalism.
  16. Able to travel occasionally.
  17. Operates in compliance with company safety practices, complies with and aids in the development of departmental safety rules; ensures all equipment is in good working order and operates in a safe manner; monitors area for hazards; and maintains a safe and clean work area.
  18. Performs other duties as assigned.


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor's degree in business or an aviation-related study strongly preferred or four years equivalent working experience in the aerospace industry.
  2. Project Management Professional Certification required or be able to obtain certification within one year of being in the Project Manager position.
  3. Five (5) years of aerospace manufacturing experience preferred. Including familiarity with structural or machined assemblies.
  4. Three (3) years of aerospace project or program management or sales experience preferred.
  5. Must possess a working knowledge of aerospace manufacturing, structural or machined assemblies, and supply chain.
  6. Strong customer service aptitude.
  7. Possess an ability to work in fast-paced and occasionally stressful environment while maintaining a high degree of flexibility, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  8. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously: possess thorough organizational skills to ensure that all details of each ongoing project are followed through and managed correctly.
  9. Must have MS Office experience including the creation of spreadsheets, quotes/customer letters, databases, and reports (Excel, Word, and Project).
  10. Ability to work well with others in different departments, even when challenges arise (schedule, budget, etc.)
  11. Possess a solid understanding of aircraft manufacturing, sheet metal components, machined components, and manufacturing structural and machined assemblies.
  12. Must hold excellent initiative and judgment to make recommendations for improvements in our processes and product offerings. Individual will need to be assertive with vendors and be able to effectively deal with demanding customers.
  13. Must be willing to undertake new responsibilities as business needs change.
  14. Presents self professionally and courteously with internal and external customers.
  15. Strong communication skills in person, telephone, and in writing.
  16. Always displays professional appearance and demeanor.
  17. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  18. Good problem-solving skills must be demonstrated with good follow-through required on communication.
  19. Ability to handle change and deadlines well.
  20. Must be organized and detail oriented.
  21. Must be Customer focused/Service Oriented.
  22. Must have a positive attitude.



Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform office and clerical duties including use of office tools.

Working Environment: The working environment is a corporate office facility. Daily contact with employees in other departments is required.
