The Virtual Reimbursement Specialist (VRS) will be responsible for responding to inbound calls from patients, caregivers, and/or HCPs with questions related to coverage and reimbursement support in vaccines.

This will be a 6 month program that will start in August.

The VRS will execute the collaborative territory strategic plan through partnership with internal and external stakeholders, which may include call center services (HUB), sales, market access, and other collaboration partners. Responsibilities include ensuring understanding of reimbursement process, field reimbursement services, and patient-level reimbursement issue resolution.

In this role, the VRS will demonstrate unwavering support and a consultative approach to help providers obtain insurance authorization and/or reimbursement of products for appropriate patients. The VRS will have a direct impact on a patient's ability to access the therapies they need. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Provide live one-on-one coverage support
  • Provide reimbursement education leveraging patient healthcare information (PHI)
  • Research inquiry, provide approved responses related to coverage/reimbursement inquiries including reimbursement amount, inpatient reimbursement, and prior authorization
  • Address claim denial inquiries related to the following criteria:
    • Due to coverage not yet in place
    • Due to coding errors
    • Due to improper administration (e.g., incorrect age, second season, etc.)
  • Proactively deliver assistance related to claims & coverage denial to provider with next steps for payer
  • Educate offices using approved materials provided by the client
  • Review patient-specific information in reimbursement cases where the office has specifically requested assistance in resolving access issues or coverage challenge

Along with demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:

  • BA/BS degree preferred, high school degree required
  • Call Center experience required
  • Leadership experience required; ability to make effective decisions and manage multiple priorities, oversight of complex programs and customers, coaching and managing representatives in a dynamic environment
  • 1+ years recent pharmaceutical or healthcare experience -e.g., medical assistant, nurse's aide, EMT, health insurance company, etc.
  • Experience with pharmacovigilance, adverse events & product quality complaints, regulatory requirements, or medication education is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to educate provider offices on access processes - including but not limited to insurance coverage, claims denial, reimbursement, and prior authorization
  • Knowledge of medical insurance terminology
  • Solid written and verbal communication & listening skills
