The Opportunity:The purpose of this role is to provide leadership and coordination for a reinsurance operations and finance team - ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, stakeholder management, and service delivery optimization.

Responsibilities include overseeing reinsurance and finance system entries, effective processing and reporting of complex reinsurance transactions across various contract types, assisting with reinsurance programs placement and operations, ensuring accurate and timely outputs in accordance with defined timelines and standards, resulting in well managed financial close processes.

The role also involves building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving continuous improvement and efficiencies in team processes.

  • Location: Sun Prairie, WI

  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid

  • Salary range: $128,000.00- - $192,000.00 based on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Drive team's adherence to company policies, processes, and procedures, and relevant legislations.

  • Build positive, open, and constructive relationships with key stakeholders to ensure service delivery meets business needs.

  • Ensure complete, accurate, and timely processing of all transactions, premiums, claims and earnings to systems.

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and necessary disciplinary action to all direct reports.

  • Review data inputs, close-out reports, and statements of accounts for accuracy and completeness

  • Validate and facilitate update requests for systems.

  • Build and maintain an effective control environment

  • Prepare administrative reports on performance metrics, identify trends and issues, and undertake appropriate remediation

  • Motivate and support the personal and professional development of team members.

  • Organize and facilitate regular staff meetings.

  • Manage approvals and administration of daily time records (DTRs) and leave requests.

Work Experience:

Necessary Work Experience includes:

  • Relevant experience in either an operational management or technical reinsurance role.

Preferred Work Experience includes:

  • Experienced in MS Office, BI tools And Alteryx workflows

  • Experienced user of Duck Creek reinsurance system.

  • Proven track record of collaboration and continuous process improvement.

  • Experience dealing with Financial Close schedules.

  • Proven experience of working in reinsurance and/or insurance.

  • Significant experience in a financial reporting environment.

  • Experience of reinsurance accounting under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

  • Graduate of any business course, preferably in Finance/Accounting.

  • Significant experience in a complex multinational environment.

  • Supervisory experience of at least moderate.

  • Relevant experience in managing various stakeholders across the globe.

Qualifications:

Necessary Qualifications include:

  • Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Certifications as an accountant.

Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate's professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE's annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.We encourage all candidates to apply, even if their salary expectations fall outside of this range, as we are committed to finding the right fit for our team.
