Job Description The Environmental/Health/Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and maintenance of the Rockwell Automation Environmental, Health, and Safety Programs supporting the Mequon, Wisconsin location. The position must collaborate with multiple stakeholders from various teams including manufacturing, development, and business operations to meet internal customer needs. This position serves as the site co-lead for the implementation of all Headquarters EHS directives, including but not limited to emergency response, sustainability initiatives, compliance with all site based regulatory reporting requirements, and any EHS program changes. The EHS Specialist supports supervision, engineering, and other department leaders in planning projects to meet safety objectives and targets. The position investigates and manages incidents such as workplace injury, property damage, or other EHS related concerns. You will work onsite from Mequon, WI, reporting to the EHS Manager.
Your Responsibilities:
- Assistance with government agency field visits as needed for the purpose of understanding the applicable EHS regulations and to maintain compliance.
- Partner with the engineering team to manage preventive and corrective actions.
- Implement company EHS procedures and hold management and employees accountable to EHS enforcement rules.
- Provide or seek technical support, input, and coordination on environmental, health and safety issues that affect projects and processes at the regional/country level.
- Participate in the disposal and management of hazardous and universal waste materials, inspections, disposal, and record keeping.
- Assist with air emissions and industrial hygiene sampling, documentation, and reporting as needed.
- Document the investigation of injuries and illnesses; analyze work related injury and illness data to identify and implement actions to prevent a reoccurrence of the injury/illness.
- Ensure that environmental, health and safety risk assessments, personal protective equipment, procedures, training, and other control measures as required by regulation and/or Rockwell Automation policy and procedures are provided to employees.
- Perform ergonomic assessments and facilitate workstation design improvements.
- Participate in managing plant safety and environmental committees to assure efficiency of committee activities.
- Work with lab and manufacturing leaders to establish and maintain safety practices.
- Perform internal audits and Gemba walks to validate effectiveness of EHS Systems.
- Monthly environmental data submissions (e.g., energy, waste, and water) into Sphera sustainability database.
- Support Systems & Engagement EHS elements as measured by the EHS Performance Assessments. Participate in annual corporate EHS assessments.
- Ensure management system requirements are established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with the ISO 14001 and 45001 standards.
- Must be able to occasionally work overtime and weekends when required and will be placed on the calling tree for emergency calls.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's Degree

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- 5+ years of EHS experience
- Professional Safety / Environmental Certifications (CSP, CIH, REM)
- Experience with SAP and SharePoint
- Working knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, ACGIH, EPA, DOT, WDNR, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Professional degree (Master or Bachelor) in Safety; Environmental Sciences or Engineering, or similar program.
