Overall Purpose

The Sr. Resource Planning Analyst is responsible for identifying ways to improve the capacity planning approach, find operational efficiencies, and improve cost margins. This role ensures that our Workforce Management outcomes enable proactive, accurate and timely business decisions, and provides transparency into what levers can be pulled to maximize opportunity with the excess/shortfalls in staff (barrier time, attainment, etc.). As an organization, this will result in tighter actual-to-forecast variances, which ultimately leads to better operating expense outcomes.

Essential Functions

  • Participates in resource planning meetings with business leaders to identify and review hiring plans and project plans leveraging capacity knowledge to bring any thoughts, concerns or recommendations.

  • Participates in weekly/monthly meetings with functional leads and other key matrix partners to communicate results and the respective impact to the forecast; review recommendations on how best to utilize excess/shortfall of resources and provide recommendations on adjustments needed to the forecast.

  • Provides solution-based strategic thinking to enable the business to operate as lean as possible without sacrificing quality or risking metric results.

  • Works closely with Finance to maintain budget accuracy and improve forecast capabilities.

  • Completes weekly and monthly analysis, reviewing and trending actuals; analyzes historical data and applies decision making skills to generate the most appropriate utilization of resources.

  • Performs ad-hoc analyses to respond to resource capacity-related questions from business leaders.

  • Supports the company's commitment to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education or experience typically obtained through completion of a bachelor's degree in business, project management or related field.

  • 5 or more years of experience in resource planning, workforce management or similar type analytical role.

  • Strong analytical, reporting, and metrics development skills.

  • Advanced skill level with tools such as: Visio, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to translate complex technical jargon and data into business language that can be easily consumed by all key stakeholders.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills. Demonstrates the ability to communicate and present effectively, both internally and externally, at all levels.

  • Highly engaged, self-starter with ability to balance achieving results and fostering collaboration.

  • Background check and drug screen.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.

The base pay scale for this position in:

New York, NY in USD per year is: $100,000 - $125,000.

Additionally, candidates are eligible for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.
