Job DESCRIPTION:

  • The Contractor shall furnish all key personnel to provide medical supply processing, storage, and distribution of consumable supplies, sterile supplies, and the utilization of automated point of use systems in wards, clinics, and operating rooms.
  • The range of MST services are the same as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of the quality, meeting or exceedingly currently recognized national standards as established by a state, territory, or commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the US or in the District of Columbia. All MST will have a minimum of 2 years recent experience.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical Proficiency: Contractor's medical supply technicians to be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government's requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently.
  • Contractor shall provide documents upon request of the CO/COR to verify current and ongoing competency, skills, certification related to the provision of services performed.
  • Managing inventory: Pulling, replenishing, monitoring stock levels (including expiration dates and critical supplies), and conducting daily inventory using barcoding.
  • Distribution: Distributing supplies based on requirements and delivering them in a timely and functional condition.
  • Customer interaction: Providing information to customers and addressing any concerns.
  • Preparation and cleaning: Preparing specialty carts and cleaning assigned areas according to aseptic principles.
  • Receiving: Receiving supplies into the medical center.


VA HOURS OF OPERATION/SCHEDULING:

  • VA Business Hours: Multiple Shifts to include: 0700 AM-0330 PM; 0730AM-4000PM; 0800AM-0430PM; 1030AM- 0700PM; 1130AM-0800PM; 1230PM-900PM; 0330PM-1200AM; 1200 AM - 0830 AM.
  • Contract personnel shall be available and present during normal VAPAHCS hours, which will be established and may be revised as deemed appropriate for safe patient care. Currently, normal operating hours are twenty-four hours per day for 7 days per week. Based on requirements and history, the schedule shifts will be 8 hours. Employees will receive their schedule 2-4 weeks in advance. This can change due to patient care needs.
  • Off-hours Coverage: Contractors will not be on-call.
  • Length of shifts: There will be seven different 8-hour shifts (if applicable).
  • Holidays and Overtime: Holiday and overtime will be scheduled and authorized as approved by the COR.
