Description

Position Summary:

The Procurement Specialist requires an enthusiastic self-starter who is a team player with excellent communication, managerial and interpersonal skills. The position requires conformance with all corporate and client confidentiality requirements, strict adherence to business ethics and practices, and a continual demonstration of professionalism throughout the delivery of services.

Position Essential Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for procurement of services as it pertains to capital construction projects and facility management programs throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions of the United States.
  • Construction delivery methods, i.e. traditional project delivery (GC), construction management (CM), integrated project delivery (IPD), design-build (DB), owner project management services (OPM, and support services for integrated facilities maintenance (IFM)
  • Responsible for consultant, subcontractor and vendor prequalification, solicitation, post-bid evaluations, recommendations, and final negotiations with selected participants
  • Contract negotiations, generating detailed bid packages, diversity program tracking, contract change management, and contract closeout processing
  • Leverage cost saving opportunities for A/Z and our clients
  • Initiate continuous improvement objectives and embrace technology enhancements
  • Support project procurement plans in compliance with client business requirements, including minority and set-aside compliance goals
  • Assist in the development of pre-qualified subcontractors and vendors local to various office and project site locations
  • Negotiation and resolution of vendor and subcontractor claims in dispute in support of project teams and clients under fair contracting practices and legal requisites
  • Follow up bid packages with participating vendor and subcontractors with Bid Package Closure letter to demonstrate appreciation of their participation and related efforts
  • Other Duties as required



Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:



  • Ability to work independently and also as part of a team;
  • Ability to communicate fluently in the English language;
  • Timberline or other purchasing software experience;
  • Good computer skills;
  • Accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Good communication skills.
