Sr. Systems Engineer, Program Payload System Lead

Stellar's Commercial Solutions Sector has provided vital technical program management and space systems engineering support to commercial customers for 30 years. The tasks will, in general, consist of technical and engineering review, critique, analysis, and recommendation activities that will be normally required to oversee a GEO High Throughput Satellite (HTS) manufacturer to deliver products and services with required performance specifications.

This program is an international program. While joining the US Stellar Commercial Solutions Sector, you will also work with the Stellar France team.

Desired start date is August 4^th.

Please note: This is a contingent position, and employment is dependent on final contract award.

Required qualifications:

Experience with GEO HTS programs
• No clearance, US person
• Educational Background: B.S. degree or equivalent, in engineering, physics, electronics, or related discipline
• Experience: at least 15 years of aerospace related experience
• Required technical skills: Recognized expertise in a satellite technical discipline (subsystem); in-depth analytical skills
• Good oral and written communication skills

Desired qualifications:

• In-factory GEO HTS manufacturing experience
• Educational Background: B.S. degree or equivalent, engineering, physics, electronics or related discipline
• Experience: at least 20 years of aerospace related experience
• Required technical skills: Working level technical understanding of all satellite technical disciplines, or expert level technical capability in at least one of the disciplines required for satellite construction
• Can speak English and Korean fluently

Deliverables:

1. Review and critique of system design for its accuracy and integrity to meet the design requirements;
2. Monitor and check of manufacturing activities for adherence to product assurance procedures;
3. Witness and monitor of integration activities for their adherence to certified procedures and standards;
4. Witness of test activities for adherence to certified test procedures; analysis and verification of test results for satisfaction of performance requirements;
5. Witness and review of satellite to launch vehicle interface, launch site activity, and mission operation procedures for their comprehensiveness and adequacy for the purpose of an accurate injection of this GEO HTS into the designated orbit; and
6. Review and assess of the GEO HTS results
7. Daily update meetings to the GEO HTS satellite purchasing company

Compensation:

Base compensation: $160,000 - $210,000. In addition to your base compensation, Stellar offers a significant variable compensation package that includes PTO, Medical/Dental/Vision, profit sharing plan, annual bonuses, and other forms of monetary recognition. Typically, this represents 35% of your total compensation.

Percentage of remote work: 0%, on-site required

Percentage of required travel: 5-10% to include travel to South Korea

Security clearance: No clearance required, must be eligible to work in the US
