SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Sr Industrial Engineer is responsible for working as part of a team to identify, develop and implement various business process improvements for the Infrastructure Maintenance and & Construction Services Department system-wide by examining benchmarking results, reviewing work practices, policies, procedures, data, budgets, agreements, work standards, and other relevant documentation to ensure efficiency and economies of scale to support the divisions and disciplines in creating a uniform and consistent structure.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Evaluate the effectiveness of internal processes and controls and recommend enhancements to data retrieval, documentation, and process flow.
* Review existing business practices, to identify opportunities to improve resource utilization, maximize inventory efficiency, and improve the quality of process outcomes.
* Coordinate with the Enterprise Asset Management team to understand and document Engineering business processes and work practices in order to 1) ensure that business requirements are developed in a way that suits the needs of the business and 2) ensure that EAM solutions deliver required functionality to meet the intent of those requirements.
* Develop solid business cases to ensure that major financial investments and business process changes are supported with sound financial analysis.
* Drive the implementation of Infrastructure Maintenance and & Construction Services' Asset Management Strategy by 1) establishing force account requirements to perform prescribed preventive maintenance plans; 2) build production standards of maintenance and operations work; and 3) coordinate the development of standard bills of material and equipment needs in support of preventive maintenance plans.
* Develop and Adopt of (near) real-time reporting from Maximo and other related systems to enable data driven decision making by Engineering supervision and management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Organizational Management or a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
* 2-5 years of related industry experience.
* Demonstrated ability to collect, summarize and analyze financial and operational information.
* Demonstrated ability to build rapport within all levels of the organization and to communicate effectively with Department heads.
* Ability to communicate complex concepts at all levels

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Demonstrated work experience in railroad engineering management systems (or related field).
* Working knowledge of asset, work, and maintenance management best practices and processes

* 2+ years of working experience with business process development and mapping and working knowledge of enterprise asset work management processes.

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

The salary/hourly range is $78,600 - $101,844. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee's assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee's base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
