The Opportunity

TCEM Gas Marketing is actively seeking an experienced and passionate Natural Gas Scheduler.

TC Energy is growing its capability set to capture and harness both risk and opportunity on behalf of customers throughout Energy value chains. TC Energy Marketing (TCEM) is in-turn evolving to meet these business needs by expanding commodity and regional coverage capabilities. Within TCEM, the Gas Trading & Marketing team is tasked with "Embracing risk, Enhancing returns, & Empowering innovation", with a specific focus on sponsoring the ongoing success of US gas-related infrastructure. What you'll do:

  • Execute and manage nominations, confirmations, imbalances, and other similar activities related to the purchase and sale of natural gas on various natural gas pipelines

  • Set up contracts on new pipelines and coordinate with internal groups

  • Gain and apply a thorough understanding of transportation contracts and nominate the movement of natural gas appropriately

  • Track the movement of all physical gas transactions and maintain an internal overview showing the contractual movements of gas, storage changes, and imbalances

  • Track and interpret maintenance and other operational issues to aide in the efficiency of transporting natural gas

  • Communicate with pipeline representatives as needed and advise the trading group on potential impacts and alternative solutions

  • Assist the trading team regarding the optimal use of transportation and storage assets

  • Communicate daily with customers and the trading team regarding physical positions and the daily movement of natural gas

  • Help ensure positions in accounting and internal system balance and reconcile to actual activity

  • Be a key team member in helping develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, pipelines, and suppliers

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Engineering

  • 7 years of natural gas scheduling experience

  • Self-motivated, strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills

  • Proficient in applications such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and ETRM Systems (including Endur)

  • Accuracy, communication and decision-making skills are critical

  • Ability to work independently and to effectively communicate, negotiate and advise various commercial, accounting and operating teams

  • Ability to simultaneously co-ordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrable knowledge of & scheduling proficiency in TC Energy specific natural gas pipelines such as Rover, Michcon, ANR, TCPL, Great Lake Gas Transmission, PEPL, Peoples Nat Gas, NNG, NGPL, Alliance, NIPSCO
