Your Opportunity as the Lead Analyst, Transportation Costing

Seeking a dynamic and results driven lead analyst to join our Transportation Costing Team. This role will be instrumental in supporting the corporate transportation budgeting process and freight spend and variance analysis in close collaboration with the Supply Chain Finance team. This role is responsible for analyzing and improving departmental metrics related to Transportation Spend. Leveraging existing tools and data resources, to identify trends, uncover issues, and provide actionable insights. Additionally, they will support the ongoing development of analytical tools and reporting processes. Strong communication skills are essential, as this role involves delivering clear summaries and strategic recommendations based on data analysis.

Location: Orrville, OH Corporate Office

Work Arrangements: Hybrid - onsite a minimum of 9 days a month primarily during core weeks as determined by the Company; maybe more as business need requires

In this role you will:

• Lead transportation variance and budgeting processes, serving as the subject matter expert while managing monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and strategic variance analysis to identify cost drivers, support financial planning, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

• Lead and manage the Customer Pickup Allowance Program, serving as the subject matter expert, overseeing program execution and quarterly reviews, and driving cross-functional improvements based on customer-specific requirements.

• Oversee carrier cost performance management, maintaining deep insight into cost metrics, collaborating with operations to optimize carrier selection, and leading efforts to replace high-cost or underperforming carriers.

• Lead analytics and technology initiatives, including dashboard development, system enhancements, and future analytics planning, while serving as a subject matter expert on business and technology projects and supporting transportation cost evaluations.

• Provide leadership and support within the Transportation team, mentoring peers, serving as a Transportation Management System (TMS) super user, and driving change management initiatives to enhance departmental effectiveness.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree

• 3 years of experiencein Supply Chain analytics or financial analysis

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

• Ability to work on a cross-functional team

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to think critically and conceptually, including clear analytical skills

• Demonstrated ability to adjust to non-routine tasks and quick changes to priorities

• Strong prioritization and organizational skills

• Great attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy
