What You'll Do



  • Partnership Development: Spearhead the cultivation of strategic relationships with clients and partners in the Lifeline Sectors of Power, Renewables, Transportation, and Water.
  • Strategic Consultation: Allocate a portion of time to consult with business leaders, offering insights and guidance to maximize opportunities with existing partners.
  • Innovative Collaboration: Collaborate with leaders across the business to design and implement processes, ensuring efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop DBE Goals: Partner with the procurement team to set and achieve DBE goals for each Lifeline Sector, demonstrating our commitment to diversity.
  • Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain a dynamic pipeline of relationships with subconsultants and partners, creating a network that amplifies our capabilities and market presence.
  • Proposal Support: Take a lead role in crafting technical proposals and project cost estimates for opportunities involving our strategic partners, leveraging their strengths and resources.
  • Growth Catalyst: Drive business growth by leveraging both business development skills and engineering skills to develop influential relationships with both current and new clients and partners.
  • M&A Support: Partner with the Corporate Development team for potential acquisition opportunities
  • Strategic Visionary: Contribute to the development and execution of the overall strategic vision for the organization, with a focus on driving innovation and excellence in strategic collaboration.
  • Process Management: In collaboration with the Business Operations department, lead the definition and process creation around strategic partnerships, ensuring clarity, efficiency, and effectiveness in the engagement of key stakeholders.
  • Market Insights: Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Mentorship: Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within the Strategic Growth department.
  • Content Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, such as Public Policy, Marketing and Communications, to ensure effective utilization of supporting content and channels for strategic collaboration efforts.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and refine the strategic approach to partnerships, adapting to changing market conditions and organizational goals.
  • Partnering with Corporate Development for potential acquisition opportunities.



What We Expect from You



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or a related field, with a focus on the Lifeline Sectors of Power, Renewables, Transportation, or Water.
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating and managing strategic relationships with clients and partners, contributing to business growth and sustainability.
  • Proven experience in crafting technical proposals and project cost estimates for opportunities, showcasing a strong understanding of engineering and business principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities within the Lifeline Sectors.
  • Experience leading the development and implementation of processes governing strategic partnerships.
  • Track record of maintaining a robust pipeline of relationships with subconsultants and partners, demonstrating a proactive and results-driven approach.
  • Strong business acumen, combining analytical skills with the ability to drive innovation and excellence in strategic collaboration.
  • Excellent relationship development skills, interpersonal and communication skills, with the capability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team, providing strategic guidance and mentorship to foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required, up to 25-40% of the time.
  • Ability to travel between the US and Canada.
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $155,500 - $210,300
* Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
