General Purpose Provide on-the-job training of the production workforce. Deliver necessary training and development by prescribed delivery methods to maintain objectives in the areas of safety, quality and productivity. Conduct initial training sessions with new production employees. Conduct periodic skill assessments and supplemental training sessions of new and veteran employees and report training needs to management. Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct initial training sessions with new production employees, focusing on product proficiency, safety, quality, and productivity
- Keep supervisor informed of employee progress during training and provide a completed training checklist upon completion
- Assess employee's potential strengths and areas for improvement or further training
- Conduct periodic skill assessments of new and current employees and report training needs to management
- Conduct supplemental training sessions with new and current employees and report results of sessions to management via written report
- Assist supervisors in developing technical training materials and in conducting skill training exercises
- Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
- Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all company regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 to 4 years of manufacturing/productions or related experience to include proficiency in the usage of the equipment and procedural knowledge of the non-mechanical aspects of equipment (e.g., paperwork, communication, safety, quality)
- Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems
- Able to apply a variety of training techniques to different learning styles
- Able to operate equipment according to instructions
- Able to perform tasks and duties without constant supervision
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Able to communicate technical information to non-technical individuals
- Able to handle challenging or conflict situations with tact and professionalism
- Able to provide honest and constructive feedback
- Able to interact positively and work effectively with others (interpersonal skills)
- Able to complete basic arithmetic, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, including decimals and fractions
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
