Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute is searching for a Project Scientist to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment.

We are seeking creative and energetic Project Scientist that is responsible for determining priorities for project area based on overall organizational goals. The incumbent will direct the work of project members to ensure goals are achieved. Frequently presents research findings to current or potential sponsors and at major national or international conferences.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as team leader, providing project management direction.

  • Contributor in developing and documenting research findings and collaborator in writing scientific papers.

  • Lead research efforts within main goals of project, and help coordinate interactions with other team members and universities.

  • Participate in research and documenting it.

  • Participate in writing proposals, papers, and a verity of reports.

  • Propose and lead independent research goals within scope of projects.

  • Will help to manage the project.

  • Will participate in team meetings and lead in some.

  • Will work be a leader in our research team but also work alone contributing to the research goals.

  • Writing documentation, technical papers, progress reports and participating in meetings/committees.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Strong Analytical Skills

  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills

  • Excellent Project Management Skills

  • 5-8 Years of Research Experience

Training:

  • OSHA - Hazardous Materials Safety Training
