THE POSITION

The Bureau of Equal Opportunity within the Department of Transportation is on the lookout for dynamic, self-driven candidates who possess a keen eye for detail to enhance its team of contract compliance field agents. This role entails conducting thorough compliance evaluations of contractors, consultants, suppliers, and grantees collaborating with the department. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, your primary responsibility will be to perform compliance reviews of contractors, consultants, suppliers, and grantees associated with the department, ensuring adherence to State and Federal Equal Opportunity/Equal Employment Opportunity (EO/EEO) standards, Form FHWA 1273, and relevant regulations. Additionally, you will facilitate conciliation and mediation conferences aimed at addressing any identified noncompliance issues with contractors. Follow-up reviews will also be part of your duties to verify adherence to conciliation agreements and corrective action plans, ensuring ongoing compliance within the department's operations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • This position may be eligible for alternate work schedule.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Pennsylvania Management Associate program (Commonwealth title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year as an Equal Opportunity Specialist 1 or Human Resource Analyst 1 (Commonwealth titles or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of analytical experience in an equal opportunity program that includes one year of professional experience, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
