Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Director for Scarlet Arts Rx. Reporting to the Director of Research and the Arts in Health Endowed Chair, the Program Director will provide comprehensive oversight to the second year of a two-year Chancellor-Funded grant for on-campus arts prescribing.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Develops, plans, and implements Scarlet Arts Rx.
  • Develops and sustains on- and off- campus partnerships to advance our programming.
  • Oversees faculty grantees, student teaching artist team, part-time coordinator and lesson plan developer.
  • Liaisons with GSAPP.
  • Trains GSAPP student clinicians and Aresty Research Assistants.
  • Manages the budget - hiring, procurement, reimbursements, IPOs, timesheets, etc.
  • Co-leads app development and get it ready for beta testing, including UX/UI focus groups or surveys.
  • Delivers a completed arts and well-being toolkit, multi-sensory arts and well-being map, arts access guides, and DIY zines.
  • Writes and delivers impact reports at the end of the fall and spring semesters.
  • Analyzes program evaluation data and provide feedback to the student artist teaching team.
  • Creates Canva flyers and post to Instagram, get Involved, wellness calendar, listservs, etc.
  • Continues creating campaigns with Dining Services, Rutgers Gardens, Zimmerli, Makerspace, etc.
  • Edits and issues weekly Scoop! news zine.
  • Updates sign-ups/maintain ScaRx lister.
  • Attends regular online meetings with the Director of Research and/or Arts in Health Endowed Chair.
  • Arises to other duties as assigned.

FLSA Nonexempt
Salary Details $50/hourly

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Doctoral degree in Education, Arts Education or related field and at least one year experience managing art program, preferably in an academic setting, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to multitask, plan and lead small projects, and maintain accurate records.
  • Demonstrated abilities in managing major program budgets and in collecting and evaluating data.
  • Excellent communication, sound judgment, and the ability to escalate issues appropriately.
  • Demonstrated abilities of working successfully and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven professional environment.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Computer literacy in Qualtrics, Concur, Canvas, Canva, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, PowerPoint, and willingness to learn new platforms.
