Job Summary: Provide product and clinical post-sale support to customers and sales representatives for installations, in-services, follow-up visits, and/or troubleshooting. Assists Marketing Managers in the design of new products, in identifying target markets, and in understanding the needs of those markets. Essential Functions:
- Conducts in-service for the full line of perioperative and life support products by identifying customer needs and setting/supporting the training schedule and agenda to accommodate those customer needs. These in-services provide customers with the information needed to effectively use Mindray products in Pre-Operative, Operating Room, and PACU departments in the hospital, as well as Operating Room products in ASCs. This role does NOT support education or installation for surveillance monitoring solutions in the perioperative or ASC space.
- Provides installation support by assisting the CARE and sales teams with solution set up as needed as well as the transfer equipment into the OR with the support from hospital staff.
- Provides clinical education and support during the final implementation of anesthesia systems and/or patient monitoring in the perioperative environment as well as ensuring parameter defaults are accurately implemented and agreed to by the customer.
- Conducts follow-up and/or virtual clinical support to maintain a constant and open relationship and promote the continued education and use of Mindray products. Acts as a liaison between the customer and other departments of Mindray, such as technical support, service, marketing, sale,s etc. in support of customer needs.
- Provides troubleshooting to accounts by visiting the account and identifying the critical issues (whether they be education, product, hospital, or departmental issues) and works to find solutions to those issues. The solution may involve Systems Solutions, Technical Support, Service, or Hospital Personnel.
Decision-Making Authority:
- This position works independently in the field and makes time and territory management decisions to meet the education needs of the customer.
Position Specifications:
- Knowledge/Educational Requirements
- RT, RN, or a similar clinical degree is preferred.
- 2-3 years of application and implementation experience for associated products.
- Experience in the education of other clinical staff using equipment.
- Knowledge of both ventilation and monitoring applications in the perioperative workspace.
2. Skills and Abilities
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills to provide successful training.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interface with marketing, sales, and engineering personnel at the divisional or corporate level as well as with all levels of hospital personnel, including clinical, administrative, and IT / clinical engineering.
- Technical capability to understand all products and a clinical understanding of the application of these products in all applicable clinical settings.
- Flexible to last-minute changes in schedules and must demonstrate a good work ethic to provide adequate instruction of products in a timely fashion.
- Independent and self-motivated, such that they can act without constant supervision.
- Ability to determine education needs of diverse clinical and specialty staff.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
3. Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Must be able to travel 80% with 3-4 overnights a week.
- Must be able to stand and present for periods of 2-5 hours, several times a day.
- Routinely lifts and moves monitoring equipment (up to fifty (50) pounds) and routinely moves anesthesia workstations throughout the hospital / ASC.
- Must be located within forty (40) miles of a major airport.
Working Relationships: 1. Internal Contacts
- Interacts on a regular basis with Sales Specialists, the Clinical Manager, and/or designee regarding account scheduling and prioritization, conflicts in time management, the department's needs, and receives direction in situations when conflicts arise.
- Interacts with Sales Representatives, Regional Managers and Directors for the purpose of planning and communicating the results of customer and sales support.
- Interacts with the clinical manager as needed for conflict resolution.
- Peer communication with Clinical Educators and Technical Support personnel on a regular basis to obtain information or provide input.
2. External Contacts
- Interacts on a regular basis with all levels of hospital personnel, including clinical, administrative, and IT / clinical engineering.
