OPERATIVE JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: WORKING TEAM LEADER

DEPARTMENT: Foundry

PAY LEVEL: H08

JOB FUNCTION:

The working lead position has been created to provide shift support in the areas of quality and productivity improvement. This is a "hands on" position with the following key responsibilities:

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide training on fundamentals for manufacturing associates to improve workmanship and productivity.
  1. Provide cross-training to manufacturing associates to support cell development and improve throughput.
  1. Identify opportunities for methods and documentation improvement and train manufacturing associates on new procedures.
  1. Perform workmanship audits to verify training effectiveness and compliance to procedure.
  1. Be a champion for the scrap and rework related issues. Interface with manufacturing, quality, and engineering as required to ensure implementation of effective solutions.
  1. Assist with administrative duties such as production schedule updates, time card review, and training documentation.
  1. Assist supervision in maintaining proper product flow.
  1. Assist and support the 6S program.
  1. Fill in for other operatives when there is a need.
  1. Must be trained, certified and/or qualified to perform a minimum of 50% of the operations in area of responsibility.

RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsible for the productivity and quality of Operative employees. Must be willing to work daily overtime and weekend overtime as necessary.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS:

  1. Meeting daily department goals for ESH and Variable Cost.
  2. Job-card to Time-clock attendance matching weekly.
  3. Assuring employees are compliant with Environmental, Health & Safety requirements.
  4. Effective communication of goals/objectives to associates.
  5. Maintain a clean & organized work area.
