Provides apprenticeship experience along with financial support.This apprenticeship complements formal instruction offered in the graduate program and gives the student practical, personal experience that can be gained only by performing research activities.It is expected that graduate associate responsibilities will not interfere with a student's reasonable progress toward completion of the graduate degree. Specific responsibilities may include applying and mastering research concepts, practices, or methods of scholarship; conducting experiments; organizing or analyzing data; writing reports; presenting findings; collaborating with others in preparing publications; and conducting institutional research for an academic or administrative unit. Graduate Research Associate to perform experiments under the guidance of a scientific mentor; performs complex laboratory techniques and records results of the experiments; generates hypotheses, designs, and records results of experiments; maintains records, supplies and equipment; writes publications and grant applications; attends seminars and presents data at scientific meetings. Education/Experience: Current graduate level student at OSU; Previous laboratory experience desired; Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
