VSolvit is searching for a Facility Security Officer to join our team. The Facility Security Officer (FSO) manages, administers, and coordinates the DOD or other industrial security program and other security activities to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures. The FSO is responsible for operation and streamlining security administrative procedures, security inventory control, and supporting the interaction between company employees and our government customer for security related items.

As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these include, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), staying focused on the assigned tasks, and completing other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge and experience with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) including the proper understanding of classifications, markings, and safeguarding

  • Uphold all aspects of security related processes and procedures for each contract

  • Maintain Security Clearances in DISS at the facility cleared level and below for all contracts

  • Conduct all required Security Trainings and Briefings and keep record both physical and electronic copies

  • Prepare and administer all documents required for personnel to obtain appropriate badging and access to government facilities and property including but not limited to TASS, CVS, VAL, and SAAR forms

  • Demonstrated knowledge of government security including DD254s and security classification

  • Review and implement federal security regulations that apply to company operations

  • Maintains all security documentation and files in accordance with DSS requirements

  • Obtain approvals, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations for each contract with various government agencies

  • Investigate security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken

  • Processes personnel clearances via JPAS, coordinating visit requests both on JPAS and via hard copy

  • Collaborate with government customers on security related issues

  • Ensure that classified and FOUO information entrusted to the company is properly safeguarded as outlined in federal controlling instructions

  • Preparation, management and interfacing with DCSA during audits

  • Interface effectively with Senior Management, DoD Officials and Customers

  • Knowledge of use and application of US government online program, Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (eQIP) for SF86 application for clearance

Basic Qualifications

  • Facility Security Officer (FSO) Certification

  • 3+ years of experience as AFSO or FSO

  • 3+ years of experience working with government security and information assurance processes

  • 3+ years of experience with protection requirements for handling and safeguarding Personally Identifiable Information (PII)

  • 3+ years of experience with DISS, NISS, and e-QIP

  • 3+ years of experience working with Corporate Executives including the following: provide status updates, ensure compliance with NISPOM requirements and provide guidance on security related questions or concerns

  • 3+ years of experience with MS Office Suite

  • 3+ years of experience providing employees with personnel security guidance, consistent with the 13 adjudicative guidelines, to best assist them managing their clearances

  • Demonstrated ability to in-process and maintain +300 employees

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Superior organizational skills

  • Must be eligible for or have active DoD Top Security Clearance

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of government contracting experience

  • BS/BA Degree in related field

  • Completion of FSO Program Management for Non Possessing (Preferred) Facilities or completion within twelve month from start date

  • Member of NCMS Society of Industrial Security Professionals
