The primary responsibility of this role is to perform product and process development in the film and sheet processing of the Specialty Films subdivision. Major Tasks & Responsibilities: Develop modified and new grades of TPU, polycarbonate, and multilayer film and sheet products Develop multi-layer and cast-on-carrier products Lead key development projects Support projects that require capital investments Explore and assess polymer chemistries new to Covestro Provide Technical Service to our Customer Base Document and report progress of the product development programs; Provide technical advice to vendor selection Collaborate with Specialty Films technical staff globally Provide leadership and support to local plant operations for upgrades and new processing technologies Basic Qualifications: High school diploma with 14+ years of professional experience relevant to the Major Tasks & Responsibilities of the position; OR Associate's degree in an engineering or related technical discipline with 9+ years of relevant professional experience; OR Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with 6+ years of relevant professional experience; OR Master's degree in an engineering discipline with 4 years of relevant professional experience Preferred Qualifications: Degree in chemical engineering or plastics engineering Specific experience with manufacturing or development of plastic films, including thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), polycarbonate (PC), or similar Specific familiarity with DOE software such as JMP or Minitab Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills; Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills; Ability to translate development activities into commercially viable technologies and products Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence others Proven track record of project management and cross-functional project team leadership Strong computer skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint. #LI-Hybrid YOUR APPLICATION Are you as curious, courageous and colorful as we are?
