Avionics/Electrical Design Engineer II

Summary:

Support for Avionics and Electrical Installations on Leonardo products. This includes defining wire routing, wire grouping, troubleshooting electrical system issues and documentation of wire routing using Capital Logic or similar tool to create wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Engineering support for Avionics and Electrical Installations on Leonardo products to the Completions Hangar teams
  • Support to Production and Flight Line fault investigations and provide corrective actions
  • Defining wire routing, wire grouping and documentation with drawings or other documentation
  • Witness/conduct any required testing to verify proper operation of the installed avionics/electrical equipment
  • Develop, or modify, test procedures to ensure proper operation of the installed avionics and electrical systems/equipment
  • Participates in project teams and all activities related to the development of new installations and modifications.
  • Support certification efforts for the avionics/electrical equipment installation

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering or a related field

Experience:

  • 4 years of experience in avionics and electrical systems installations or in avionics testing or in design, repair, and analysis of electrical systems.
  • 4 years of experience with more than one Avionic System (including but not limited to: Navigation, Electronic Flight System, Radios, Autopilot).
  • Experience using AutoCad or similar design software to generate electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Electrical System Troubleshooting. Any and all experience may be gained concurrently.

Demonstrated Knowledge of:

* A Modeling Simulation tool (such as Simulink, MATLAB, SolidWorks).

* Electronic circuit technology (analog and digital).

* Microsoft Office products, especially with Word, PowerPoint and Excel for the preparation of acceptance test procedures and reports.

* Use of lap-top computers for data logging, digital bus readers and other avionics test equipment.

*Knowledge may be demonstrated through coursework, training, and/or experience. Any and all knowledge may be gained concurrently.
