Overview
Under limited supervision, is responsible for the coordination and administration of all radiologic exams; ensures technical quality and timely reporting of results. Assures compliance with appropriate regulatory agencies related to patient and employee safety. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities -Performs X-ray procedures as ordered achieving a high level of film quality. -Offers radiology expertise to physicians regarding appropriateness of additional/modified studies, etc. -Escorts' patients to treatment room. -Assists with dressings as necessary. -Completes all paperwork necessary to ensure timely delivery of radiology services. -Provides protection for patient and self in accordance with prescribed safety standards. -Ensures the safety and physical comfort of the patient while in technologists care. -Reports all malfunctions and/or need for adjustments to the proper company or facility. -Arranges preventive maintenance as recommended by vendor. -Follows prescribed safety standards in operating equipment. -Digital cassettes are also run through the CR system in the morning and erased. -Maintains radiation detection badges and files all radiation reports. -May maintains adequate inventory of clinical and clerical supplies for Radiology Department to ensure efficient operations. -Arranges for the release of CD*s to patients and or outside agencies. -Make sure that proper releases have been completed and release information saved in IKM. -Maintains confidentially of all information related to patients and medical staff. -Performs call and confirms for CT exams. -May walk PET patient on some days to PET Coach and assist PET technologist as needed. Qualifications Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school. Minimum five years experience as an X-Ray Technologist. Certification as a registered radiologic technologist (ARRT) required. Current IV and CPR certifications required. Requires ability to reach above shoulder height. Requires sitting/standing for extensive periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
