Job Description: Job Summary The pharmacy residency program is a twelve-month postgraduate training program designed to develop a skilled practitioner who is prepared to deliver patient-centered pharmaceutical services and interact with members of the health care team accountable for the care of patients with complex conditions in a community hospital ambulatory care environment. Residents who successfully complete the residency program will be prepared to pursue advanced patient care, academic, or other specialized positions, along with board certification, if available. The resident will be responsible for supervising and performing in all pharmacy operations in accordance with accredited hospital policies and procedures, ethical and professional practices, The Joint Commission standards, and State and Federal requirements. The resident will be in compliance with the accreditation standards of American Society of Health-System Pharmacists PGY2 pharmacy residency program. Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required Graduate of an ACPE accredited degree program (Bachelor of Science or Doctorate of pharmacy) or eligible for pharmacist licensure Participating in, or have completed, an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency program or one in the ASHP accreditation process (i.e. one with candidate or preliminary accreditation status) Kentucky Pharmacist Licensure or eligible; a. If not yet licensed by the State of Kentucky Board of Pharmacy at the start date, must be registered as a Pharmacy Intern with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy b.
