Job Summary:



The Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine seeks a clinician-educator interested in a career as a clinician, practicing and teaching general internal medicine in a patient-centered medical home.

The physician will provide care for patients at a University of Colorado Health Internal Medicine Clinic, University of Colorado Hospital Sleep Center or CU Internal Medicine Clinic, with opportunities for precepting residents and students. Faculty share responsibilities for night, week-end, and vacation coverage with other members of the group practice and will participate in decisions regarding the practice operation.

The clinician-educator will have opportunity for academic promotion judged on criteria of demonstrated excellence as a clinician/educator/scholar. Clinician-educators are encouraged to collaborate with other faculty in clinical research projects.



Work Location:



Onsite - This role is expected to work onsite and is located in the Denver Metro area.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Faculty Rank is dependent upon years of experience, fellowships completed, board certification and candidate's preference on committing to a tenure track.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor, Senior Instructor, or Assistant Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Non-Tenured Track

Instructor:



  • MD or DO degree
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Sleep Medicine.
  • Current State of Colorado Medical License by the employment start date


Senior Instructor:



  • MD or DO degree
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Sleep Medicine.
  • Current State of Colorado Medical License by the employment start date
  • Three (3) or more years of professional experience as an internal medicine clinician


Tenured Track

Assistant Professor:



  • MD or DO degree
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Sleep Medicine.
  • Current State of Colorado Medical License by the employment start date


Preferred Qualifications



  • Current DEA by employment start date.
  • 0-7 years' experience as an MD or DO


    • Fellowship experience will be considered under years' experience

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as:

Instructor: $200,000 - $214,000

Senior Instructor: $216,000 - $232,000

Assistant Professor: $200,000 - $214,000

The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
