About the Job

In support of your supervisor's research, you may be asked to perform the following duties in your employment as a Graduate Research Assistant:

* Follow scheduled work hours as determined by your supervisor
* Set up lab spaces and maintain lab organization, including cleaning and maintaining lab equipment in working order, media preparation, inventory ordering, cleaning/sterilizing supplies as needed
* Assist with various administrative duties related to the functioning of the laboratory such as maintaining lab safety and training records
* Assist in the preparation of grant applications and other funding documents in support of supervisor's research relative to trainee's thesis project.
* Assist in the training of incoming lab members, including undergraduate students and maintain lab safety and training records
* Organize and store all chemicals substances, fluids and compressed gases according to safety instructions
* Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility. This includes: performing experiments, collecting research material, organizing and analyzing samples related to a project, and generate publication quality figures.
* Provide constructive feedback and support to fellow researchers and contribute to a positive and productive research environment
* Attend all meetings and training sessions scheduled by the supervisor
