Do you have a high attention to detail and accuracy? The Weitz Company is hiring an Accountant I to join our treasury team. This role will be responsible for accounting projects related to treasury, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone interested in starting a career in accounting!

What You'll Do:



  • Analyze multiple bank reports to summarize into a daily report for management
  • Verify invoice extensions and discount information prior to processing payments; distribute vendor payments
  • Assist with maintaining the report of checks and wires that are deposited into the company account for accuracy
  • Process daily and weekly treasury reports
  • Submit invoices for processing when needed
  • Obtain and confirm p-card coding each month
  • Create payment groups, print checks, submit wire transfers
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external parties



What We're Looking For:



  • Experience:

    • Experience with basic accounting and/or invoicing
    • Accounting, finance, or related degree is a plus


  • Skills:

    • Organized with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
    • Reliable
    • Flexibility to pivot priorities as needed


  • Technology:




    • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Ability to learn specific job-related software upon hire
