About the Opportunity: Develop software based part programs for various Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). May be asked to assist with Computer Aided Inspection (CAI) systems based on customer or internal Pursuit specifications. Assist Manufacturing and Quality Engineers (ME/QE) to determine best practice inspection methods. Train and mentor inspection personnel on equipment setup and operation once measuring approach has been defined. Location: Whitesboro, NY Responsibilities Develop software inspection programs which are intended for repeated use to inspect geometrically defined components. Validate software inspection programs for repeatability, conformance and efficiency. Aid with part programming projects from other sites either remotely or on-site if sought. Work directly with Manufacturing Engineer/Quality Engineer resources to determine inspection criteria and help develop best practice inspection techniques Operate measurement equipment to perform machine trials on newly developed part programs and prepare them for machine readiness Working with the Quality engineers to develop custom inspection data reports based on specific customer or engineering requests Interfaces directly with the Manufacturing Engineer/Quality Engineer or manufacturing personnel to accurately explain measurement data obtained from the inspection process to provide clear assessment of inspection result Train inspection personnel on correct usage of CMM equipment, part programs, and maintenance Maintain compliance with program development, change management, validation procedures and best practice Be willing to support working on a varied schedule, which may include evenings and weekends, when critical business needs have been identified Be open to travel, including international, when support of other divisional needs are elevated. Adheres to all Core Values (Health and Safety, Quality, Customer Service, Development of People, Integrity, Corporate Citizenship, Continuous Improvement, Respect) Adheres to all Core Competencies (Communication, Teamwork, Achieving Results, Commitment to Continuous Improvement, Judgement) Other job-related duties as assigned This job does not have supervisory responsibilities Required Qualifications Using CAD models, proficient in CMM techniques and application and program CMM's (Coordinate Measuring Machines) using PC-DMIS Understands Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance concepts (of ASME Y14.5:2009 & ISO 1101:2012) and is able to apply the techniques to the inspection process High level understanding of inspection concepts and is able to determine suitable approach based on geometric definition Proficient in general computer concepts and has experience using Microsoft Windows based products Experience with Calyspo and QUINDOS CMM programming a plus and read, understand, and interprets blueprints and other technical documentation Requires mathematical skills and experience with solving trigonometry-based formulas Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of PM2 & Polyworks for Ferro Arm and Metronics Qudara Check (QC5000) software Experience with quality systems and their application Must have problem solving skills and work well under quick turnaround production demands Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, CNC equipment, quality standards and rework processes Compensation & Benefits: In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $70,000.00- $90,000.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, education, and geographic location.
