POSITION SUMMARY

The Shop Supervisor will be responsible with managing all vehicle repair estimates for Los Angeles County fleet. Responsibilities include but are not limited to pricing, estimates, quality assurance inspections, and safety.

Salary Range: $64,000-$67,000 annually

RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Plans, organizes,and directs the day-to-day shop activities
  • Supervises service writers, technicians, and maintenance technicians
  • Directs maintenance goals: daily, weekly, and monthly work activities
  • Opens and closes work orders in accordance with contractual obligations
  • Submits vehicles work estimates in accordance allotted time
  • Assign work priorities, preventative maintenance, BIT, and smog inspections
  • Submit weekly financial shop performance report
  • Maintain and submit daily vehicles work order aging, lot-count, and vehicles statuses
  • Submit weekly over 30-day work log vehicles status
  • Supervises personnel accountability and complete time sheets
  • Maintain and submit monthly profit and loss spreadsheet
  • Coordinate vendors and dealers' maintenance support
  • Complete and submit vendors receipts in designated software system


  • Assistwith preparation and management of new vehicles
  • Submit personnel work performance reviews, recommend promotion and/or disciplinary action and separation
  • Responsible for training subordinates in work principles, policies and/or procedures
  • Maintainand/or improve the production levels of employeesin accordance withestablished work performancestandards
  • Maintain filing system in accordance with customer requirements
  • Maintain equipment in good repairs; computers, troubleshooting and equipment
  • May be required to travel 10% of time to other shops to give estimates
  • Other duties required



QUALIFICATIONS




  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Preferred Vocational/Technical training in automotive repair.
  • 7 - 9 years of related vehicle maintenance experience.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and motor vehicle.
  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Office Suite; word, excel and power point.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills all levels in the organization
  • Must possess great customer skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities tocompletion.
  • Problem solving skills with an analytical thoughtprocess.


  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changingenvironment
  • May berequiredto lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting,stretching,and bending throughout the workday.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is typically based in a busy service center/maintenance garage environment and subject to frequent interruptions.Frequent work outside and in inclement weather conditions isrequired, including heat, cold and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Must be willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required byestablishedCompany Safety Standards. Normal work hoursareMonday-Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 PM, however some extended or weekend hours may also berequired.
