Overview
Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Supervisor Real Estate Loan Servicing. The sucessful candidate will supervise the daily operations and staff related to the servicing of residential mortgages, including residential tax/insurance escrow functions and homeowner's insurance tracking and maintenance. Coordinate the workflow for assigned personnel, sets deadlines, ensure procedures are compliant with state and federal lending regulations and secondary market investor guidelines are followed. Review the residential mortgage servicing area processes and procedures for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision, coaching, and training, development, and performance evaluations of staff. Handle all human resource needs of department employees. Measure and coach staff regarding productivity, quality, member service expectations and goals. Conduct regular department meetings, one-on-one meetings and training sessions. Ensure team possesses a high level of individual accountability for delivering results within attainable deadlines and industry and regulatory standards. Interviews and hire new staff as needed.
- Ensure tax/insurance payments are made on time and valid insurance is properly in place for the life of the loan to minimize risk and liability. Establish, review and maintain member escrow accounts where applicable. Coordinate with outside legal counsel in review and preparation of Subordination Agreements, Assignments of Mortgage, deed changes and Partial Release of mortgaged premise. Review and approve releasing of funds for residential renovation loans and insurance claims. Ensure Lien Releases, and Satisfactions of Mortgage are prepared within the allotted time frame required by state and federal law and regulations.
- Ensure proper record retention and that loan documentation is maintained, and loans are being properly processed and serviced. Interfaces with the various external vendors that support servicing activities, for example: hazard insurance/collateral protection, tax monitoring, flood insurance and private mortgage insurance.
- Create and implement department procedures and staff developmental plans. Continuously review and update procedures and forms for compliance and accuracy. Implement necessary changes to improve efficiency for the effectiveness of the department and disseminate information to staff.
- Responsible for coordination of Real Estate Servicing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and year end reports including IRS reporting, Escrow Analysis and member statements. Ensure servicing software compatibility and compliance to areas within the Credit Union; IT, Accounting, Member Debt Solutions, Branches, Compliance, Internal Audit.
- Establish, monitor and ensure that service level agreements related to mortgage servicing functions are met.
- Work with other departments including Real Estate Processing, Underwriting, Closing, Secondary Market and Member Debt Solutions to ensure data integrity for loans boarded into the mortgage servicing system.
- Responsible for resolution of member issues in a timely manner. The supervisor contributes to the process to ensure overall member statisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with Credit Union policies and procedures as well as federal and state regulatory and Investor requirements. Perform research and respond to internal audit and external audit requests.
- Serve as the back up to the Real Estate Lending Manager and acts on his/her behalf.
- Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) certificate, or state authorized high school equivalent certificate; or a current high school senior in possession of a certificate of satisfactory academic standing required.
- Associate's Degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years experience in lending, preferably in mortgage lending or loan servicing, required.
- Minimum 1 year supervisory leadership or similar work experience experience required.
