What to expect on the job:

The Production Supervisor oversees efficient production of quality products through effective communication with managers, subordinates, and all other departments within the organization.



  • Communicate with Production Scheduler, Sanitation, Warehouse, and Maintenance Department's to assure the most efficient use of equipment, materials, and personnel.
  • Assign employees to specific areas and tasks to maximize production efficiencies and clearly communicate expectations.
  • Review processing specifications and assure missing or incorrect information is updated. Including equipment and line set-ups, yield, rate, crewing assignments, and special notes.
  • Assure all required paperwork is completed and turned-in as required. Includes but are not limited to; raw material usage, finished product production, downtime, production time, personnel counts, HACCP paperwork, accident reports, work orders, and time and attendance reports.
  • Assist with projects for other departments such as R&D, standard updates with Accounting, water and energy conservation with Maintenance, etc.
  • Act as trainer for specific formal training classes including operator's training, HACCP, SPC, GMP, etc.
  • Assurance of up-to-date, cost effective manufacture of products through increased efficiency, quality standards, and company objectives.

Qualifications

* Associates/Bachelor's degree is desired or equivalent experience



  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred
  • At least Four (4) years of manufacturing supervisory experience
  • Management and Supervision courses and/or training
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of both Scheduling procedures and costing of products is required to ensure the production of products in an efficient & cost effective manner
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to understand and evaluate costs involved with production


  • Ability to communicate with employees with very limited English skills
  • Experience with Food Manufacturing desirable
  • Experience with HACCP desirable
  • Obtain USDC HACCP Certification



Demonstrates subject matter expertise in related Supply Chain technology such as JDE, BOSS, DSI
* 3-5 years of progressive experience in supply chain with In-depth knowledge of Supply Chain Operations, Logistics and Warehouse systems and processes, Inventory Control processes
* Exceptional ability to navigate Warehouse Management systems, pull data and develop reports
* Bachelor's degree and/or related experience in Supply Chain operations
* Highly analytical coupled with advanced MS Excel skills to develop metrics identifying corrective actions where needed
* Adept at developing reports, analyzing large amounts of data and making related appropriate recommendations/action plans
* Results oriented - driven to achieve KPIs
* Proven ability to analyze and reconcile inventory and/or Sales Order discrepancies
* Strong communication skills, responsible to liaise with various internal departments
* Develop and motivate HLF Inventory Control team.
* Previous supervisory experience to plan, assign and direct employees workload, provide performance feedback
* Strong software expertise with Office 365, Prism, Reports Now
* Ability to "think on your feet" and manage multiple tasks.
* APICS certification preferred
