  • Estimated annual base pay: $164,000 (minimum) - $205,000 (midpoint) - $246,000 (maximum)

Are you ready to make your mark? If you're a Supplier Quality Leader, we have an exciting opportunity for you. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Quality and works within a large site management team with multiple site responsibilities while supporting group vision, strategies and objectives. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of quality improvement strategies as well as the continuous improvement of quality systems and business processes that support a large site and global supply base. This position is a strong contributor to supporting and achieving group level organizational quality objectives. The position has a single large site responsibility and involves heavy collaboration with Directors and Managers to ensure an overall One Woodward alignment of quality strategy, philosophy, systems and business practice.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Accountable for the coordination and integration of the supplier quality process and procedures in the following areas: Government and Regulatory compliance (ISO,AS,TS, DCMA, IEECx), Customer Quality Compliance, and internal quality procedural compliance.
  • Establishes and executes site level strategic quality plan to meet business objectives and customer expectations. Supports group level strategic quality plan.
  • Collaborates on supply base strategy and execution with Purchasing organization.
  • Develops and holds staff accountable for quality metrics that enable evaluations of progress to the site strategic plan and goals.
  • Develops staff and supports the site and suppliers regarding implementation of PLC (Product Life Cycle), APQP, Lean, process capability/First Pass Yield and continuous improvement initiatives while implementing and maintaining an effective supplier quality system.
  • Develops quality leadership team through talent management processes to ensure high level of capability and the development of "ready now" succession candidates.
  • Represents Woodward to suppliers, customers, potential customers, regulatory bodies through presentation and communication of the Quality Management System and quality strategies to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Accountable for effective Root Cause and Corrective Action within the supply base for supplier escapes and ensures an effective internal and external corrective action process (timely and effective closures of Supplier Corrective Action Requests-SCAR's).
  • Report supplier and internal quality metrics to management and other business segments. Drives with site leadership, corrective action and problem solving to accelerate improvements.
  • Stay abreast of current quality and regulatory trends and methodologies in the applicable industry and utilize this information for developing proactive strategies and readiness.
  • Provides direction, development and performance management of direct reports. Direct reports includes Quality Managers and other direct quality personnel.
  • Develop and maintain an appropriate site quality organization to support the successful adherence to the QMS and the transformation process enterprise wide. Accountable to manage quality resources to meet the financial plan.

What We Are Looking For

Education:

  • US - Master's degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) preferred
  • US - Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) required, Engineering Degree preferred

Experience:

  • Quality and/or operations leadership in a low volume/high mix manufacturing environment
  • Quality and/or engineering leadership subject matter expertise in the supplier quality process
  • Program management and new product launch leadership experience
  • Strong experience with APQP, PPAP and process capability improvement

License & Certifications:

  • Black belt Certification preferred
